"YANDEX TRAVEL" SURPASSES OSTROVOK IN BOOKING NUMBERS

According to the media, "Yandex Travel" has become the leader among hotel booking services. Every sixth guest searching for accommodations online did so through an application created in collaboration with Doubletapp.

Based on data from the hotel business platform TravelLine, "Yandex Travel" managed to nearly double its share of bookings in just one year, going from 8.1% in the summer of 2022 to 15% by June-August 2023. Consequently, the aggregator has outperformed last year's leader, Ostrovok. Experts attribute the increase in popularity to the introduction of the mobile application.

In 2020, "Yandex" merged "Plane Tickets", "Schedules", "Buses", "Hotels", and "Tours" into a unified web portal, "Yandex Travel". The natural progression of this journey led to the creation of a mobile application, which enhances the user experience by utilizing the advantages of smartphones, including mobility and native, fast interfaces.

Lev Orekhov, CTO of "Yandex Travel", approached Doubletapp in the summer of 2021. In early 2023, the official release of the application took place. Details regarding its functionality and development are covered in our case study.

We had no doubts about the success of "Yandex Travel," and we take pride in creating a high-quality product that millions of people around the world use with pleasure and comfort.

By the way, after a successful release, our partnership with "Yandex" grew into long-term collaborative relationships. Now, the Doubletapp team is working on other projects for "Yandex," which you may hear about soon, possibly in the news or rankings.
